Completion of the Intersection Reconstruction at Šárecká and Matějská Streets

Following the first phase of the Šárecká Street modernization (in the Na Pískách – Matějská section), regular traffic returned to the road on June 19, 2026. Throughout June and July 2026, only the final resurfacing of the pavements took place, which will significantly improve movement in the area for both local residents and visitors. Currently, regular comprehensive maintenance is also being carried out on two Baba1932 interactive information panels at the U Matěje public transport stops.

What has changed in the area?

  • Safer intersection: The main road and the mouth of the side street have been narrowed, making it easier for pedestrians to cross.
  • New traffic island: It safely separates opposing traffic lanes for pedestrians.
  • New surfaces: The roadway received a new asphalt concrete surface, the pavements are made of Prague mosaic pavers, and a cyclist ramp made of interlocking paving blocks was added.
  • Stop modifications: The adjacent bus stops and street gullies also underwent a complete reconstruction.
